Renee Kunkel has been homeschooling for over 20 years and is currently the Homeschool Liaison for the Ashbrook Center. She is working with the Ashbrook Center to develop a full range of homeschool curricula, the next installment being a Charlotte Mason style Pre-K - 2nd grade curriculum set to be released in spring 2021.
Prior to her time at the Ashbrook Center, Renee developed unit studies for young children, and spent some time teaching High School Literature and Debate at Veritas Christian Academy. She is also the owner and photographer of Fairytale Photography.
Renee's love of reading and children led her to Ashland University where she majored in English Literature and Political Science and was an Ashbrook Scholar.
She and her husband, Ben, have been married for nearly 25 years. After their first child was born, Renee spent a lot of time studying child brain development and traveled to The Institutes for Human Potential for two wonderful weeks. Those weeks led her to homeschooling their four children, which has occupied most of her time for the past 20+ years.
